“What should I do with my life?” I often wondered during my early twenties. I wasn’t sure where I was headed, but I was praying to be of service to humanity. That’s when it occurred to me:If we’re motivated by love in whatever we’re doing, even if our efforts seem small on the surface, then we’ll be living in accord with a power that genuinely makes a difference—the power of God, which the Bible says is Love itself.
At the time, I’d begun to really open my heart to God and was learning from the study of Christian Science that the nature of our divine Creator is infinitely loving and we’re designed to express God’s love in beautiful and unique ways. It’s like each of us, including our daily endeavors, are made to be an artistic tapestry of divine Love.
This idea still inspires me each day to see and treat everyone I meet with love, to acknowledge their God-derived value, beauty, and uniqueness. Christian Science has shown me how letting a truer sense of God’s all-defining love govern how we interact and genuinely care for each other actually leads the way to useful ideas and purposeful action, and improves society as a whole. Since my twenties, I’ve seen how these views have led me, and others, in a variety of fruitful endeavors that bring genuine healing where it’s needed most.
Along the way, I’ve worked with educational non-profits, contributed to community art events, participated in interfaith programs, and served as a Christian Science nurse. I am now in the full-time healing ministry as a Christian Science practitioner and teacher.
If you want to experience the peace and joy that comes from living a life directed by God’s love, you have come to the right place.
Our Christian Science Society is one of the many world-wide branches of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left."
— Isaiah 30:21 King James Bible
Christian Science is based on the teachings of Jesus. It is a Christian religion that follows the inspired word of the Bible - both the Old and the New Testaments - along with the textbook Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by author Mary Baker Eddy.
Science and Health has its sole foundation in the Bible, and elucidates the timeless principles and guidelines found there.
These two books, The Holy Bible and Science and Health, show how God’s care and goodness can be felt in everyday life, in practical ways.
Each Sunday we host a one-hour service during which a Bible Lesson presenting a specific subject is read by a First and Second Reader.
Our one-hour Sunday worship service is held at 10:00 a.m. and is open to everyone. At this service you will hear a Bible Lesson read by two lay readers. Each week the Bible Lesson explores a specific topic which is relatable and helpful in addressing solutions for everyday needs.
You are cordially invited to join us.
We offer a Sunday School session from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for children and young people up to the age of 20. Sunday School pupils learn fundamental truths from the Bible, including the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, and Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. And they learn how they can use these truths in their daily lives.
Our one-hour testimony meetings are held every week, where you will hear a short topical reading from the Bible and Science and Health. This is followed by attendees individually sharing thanks for the ways in which learning about God's goodness has given their lives more purpose and peace.
Wednesday testimony meetings are held at 4:30 p.m. every Wednesday afternoon. Please feel free to come and hear how practical Christianity is being lived today.
If you are unable to attend our Wednesday testimony meetings in person, you may call our free conference call line to listen in. The call-in number is: 1-844-855-4444; the Access Code is: 743857 followed by the pound sign [ # ].
