If you want to experience the peace and joy that comes from living a life directed by God’s love, you have come to the right place. Our Christian Science Society is one of the many world-wide branches of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Christian Science is based on the teachings of Christ Jesus. It is a Christian religion that follows the inspired word of the Bible, along with the textbook Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. Science and Health has its sole foundation in the Bible, and elucidates the principles and guidelines found there. These two books show how God’s care and goodness can be felt in everyday life, in practical ways.
Every Sunday we host a one-hour service beginning at 10:00 a.m. during which a Bible Lesson presenting a specific subject is read by a First and Second Reader.
We offer Sunday School for children and young people up to the age of 20. Sunday School pupils learn fundamental truths from the Bible, including the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer and Christ Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.
WEDNESDAY TESTIMONY MEETINGS:
At these meetings you will hear a short topical reading
from the Bible and Science and Health. This is followed by attendees individually sharing thanks for the ways that learning about God has given their lives more purpose and peace.
On Thursdays and Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., our church edifice doubles as a Reading Room. Reading Rooms are a peaceful place for everyone to come in and read, pray and take a few quiet moments to recharge. In our Reading Room, you will be able to study and/or purchase the Holy Bible, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy and various other Christian Science literature. You can find a nearby Christian Science Reading Room via a quick Internet search. And when you're in the area you are always invited to stop by and visit us at ours.
Our Sunday worship service is held at 10:00 a.m. and is open to everyone. You are cordially invited to join us. The Bible Lesson subject for Sunday, December 17 is:
"Is the Universe, Including Man, Evolved by Atomic Force?"
Here is a Bible thought from this lesson:
"Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture." Psalms 100:3
Wednesday testimony meetings are held at 4:30 p.m. every Wednesday afternoon. Please feel free to come and hear how practical Christianity is being lived today.
Reading Rooms provide a peaceful place to read, reflect and pray. Our Reading Room is open on Thursdays and Saturdays, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
The Holy Bible, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, The Christian Science Monitor and other Christian Science literature are available for you to peruse or purchase.
Brown Bag Lunch and Video Lecture - 12:00 p.m. (noon) - Bring your brown bag lunch and join us as we watch a videotaped Christian Science lecture. We will provide bottled water and good food for thought. All are welcome.
Our next featured Christian Science video lecture will be on Thursday, January 4 at 12:00 pm.
The title of the lecture is: "Practicing Christian Healing Today". The lecturer is Mary Alice Rose, a Practitioner, Teacher and Lecturer of Christian Science. In her talk, Mary Alice Rose explores what is at the heart of Christian healing. It's the love that Christ Jesus lived, - a love that transforms and reforms lives, and is available to everyone today.
We're looking forward to seeing you on January 4!
